      Product Description

      FaSSCoF is a biorelevant dissolution medium that simulates human fasted state colonic fluid. It contains the appropriate physiological components (bile salt and lipids) reflecting those present in colonic fluids before a meal. This makes FaSSCoF more predictive of solubility and dissolution than plain buffers.

      It is used to assess how drugs and modified release drug products intended for colonic delivery dissolve in fasted state colonic fluids. In general, it is less useful for immediate release drugs because absorption of most immediate release drugs are largely complete when the colon is reached and the zone for absorption after oral administration is much smaller than the upper gastrointestinal tract. Here are the specific benefits of using this product:

      *Ideal for use in USP dissolution apparatus (if using USP dissolution 1 or USP dissolution 2 apparatus we recommend 900ml of FaSSCoF per vessel)

      *Drug analysis can be carried out by HPLC

      *Simple and quick preparation method
